Another "heartworm day" was today 💔🪱
Today we had 5 of our protegés undergo a complete cardiology and heartworm check-up at Dr. Péterfia Dalma.
Unfortunately we received very bad news about our sad eyed Feta bulldog. He is severely infected, there are cardiac abnormalities already unfortunately. In addition to the treatment protocol, he has to take heart medication and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Erdőkertesi_Curtis and Zanna are stage 1, Liana has an adult shaped heartworm dissection in her pulmonary artery, but fortunately no cardiological damage yet. They are being started on Doxy-moxy drug therapy.

Quiz, a beautiful Kaj girl, came into the care of the Noah's Animal Shelter Foundation as a severe heartworm. Since then she has undergone several 6-month treatment protocols. Last December she finally produced her first negative heartworm test. We are now bringing him for a follow-up ultrasound due to cardiac abnormalities caused by heartworm disease. Thankfully, all her values are normal at the moment and we can gradually wean her off the heart medication she has been on for 2 years. 💙🙏

Today's tests cost 115.000Ft. In 3 weeks we go to Dr Dalma with another infected dog. And based on today's tests we will start personalized treatments for everyone.
Noah's Animal Shelter Foundation currently has nearly 70 heartworm dogs under active treatment.
