Last week we took 5 of our protegés to Dr. Dalma Péterfia the heart worm specialist and we have received bad news 😢
💔 Nálá, the skin and bones boxer girl,
💔 Dara, the skin and bones anal prolapsed shar pei girl
💔 Lidérc, the puli-puddle who had femoral hernia on both side and on 1 side it was a size of baby's head,
💔 Ginevra, the cane corso girl who has eye problems
💔 Roscoe corso, who came from the city pound of Békés who lived most of his life on chain in a pigsty

5 dogs and all of them in a bad shape. 3 of them (Nála, Dara and Lidérc) are in extra serious condition because they had a lot of grown worms swimming around in the lung artery. Even our specialist was surprised. The blood test showed that they also have lot of larvas in their blood so even getting rid of those will be very risky and a slow process.
The 2 cane corso will get medication but Nálá, Dara and Lidérc has to have the removal surgery by catheter. That is their only chance of survival. 😢

The examinations, the different tests has already cost us about 150.000m.huf (about 450 euros). The treatments will cost about the same. The 3 surgeries will cost a lot more, about 2-3 times more and as I write this I already know that 5 more dogs who came into our care have tested positive for heartworms. 💔😢
