Pityping came into our care with her puppy a couple of weeks ago. She has the kind of Dachshund attitude that loves only 1 person and everybody else has to keep away. About 10 days ago we noticed that she has a walnut size bump on her back. We immediately took her to our vet where a sample was taken from it and was sent for analysis. We were informed that it is only an inflammation and it shrank to a cherry size. We were happy about it but 3 days ago the bump suddenly grew to child's head size. Of course we ran to the vet with her who operated on her the next day thinking it is "just" a cyst. Dr. Betti Orbán has operated and planned 1 our operation turned into a 4 our life saving surgery. It turns our that it was not a cyst. It was an abscess and it had part of her intestine in it which has died off. This problem was caused by a few straws which pierced her intestine. Our vet has removed the died off intestine, cleaned out the abscess and sewed her up. She is in critical condition but we know that everything was done for her what is humanly possible. We are hopeful that she will pull through this and we are asking you to keep your fingers crossed for her! She will stay at the Clinic for a long while in order to monitor her condition.
