Dog Log 13.08-19.08.2012
2012.08.23.

Summer is over now. It’s an experience of several years that in August people come back from holiday and they adopt much more pets than earlier during summer. This week not less than 9 dogs were adopted. Usually people were searching for puppies because they would have the chance to grow up their pets. People can adopt puppies (both male and female) with an obligation of spaying. So we hope that those pets who were adopted from us won’t make more difficult situation in animal protection.
We hope that not so many dogs will come back to our place a few years later but they can live their beautiful life by the same family.

Let’s see the lucky ones:
It was a record time that every member (4 puppies) of Dömi family found a new home. It was not a wonder because they are beautiful mixed German Sheppard. 

Dömi Dalma and Locsi went to their new family together.

Kiscsoki (small chocolate) Cookie is an urban dog now.

Ízisz Cakó is a playmate of a young boy:

Piaci Puttony has moved to the countryside to a huge garden.

Chokito

Naturally we couldn’t get away this week without new dogs.
The members of Erdő (Wood) family were found in Pestimre. We couldn’t host the young puppies so their founder can keep them until they get their second vaccination.

For the original owner of Anuka and her puppies, Udo and Umbrella, the dog keeping was banned by the local government because the dogs stayed on the street permanently. After every heating many puppies were born. That’s why the government confiscated them.

The process of confiscation has ended so NOÉ Pethome got the ownership of the dogs. All the three dogs are adoptable now.
Beton was found in the 17th district near Tarcsai Street by a bus stop. He was sitting and waiting there. We don’t know for whom he was waiting. Maybe somebody put him to the street or he was just straying from home but an animal lover family couldn’t wait for more and they helped him.

Molnárka is a small fox-terrier mix. She is around 3 years old. She lives in Óhegyi Park in Kőbánya since 6 months. She moved to an abandoned place of a homeless person. Some friends of animals gave her food and water. Molnárka is really shy. It took her some month to trust in people.
As soon as she has opened up, she became a burden for the locals. They thought Molnárka would get hurt somehow. And it has happened one night. Somebody beat her. She came to our place with injuries and was trembling.
It turned out after the examination that she has no big injuries, but her spirit was damaged.
We know that she was living on the streets for more than 6 months, but we are trying to find her original owner. We are waiting for her hosts with her original vaccination book, photos and some documents that can prove her origins. Please call 06-30/221-1299 from Monday till Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. If her original hosts don’t turn up then she is waiting for the new ones vaccinated, chipped and spayed.

Our horse rescue group got a new horse, Menthol, this week. His original host took him to our place because he is roaring and his host couldn’t give him the best environment. He has sprinkled Menthol’s run and stable without avail and gave steroids for the horse in order Menthol not to drown.
Menthol has a strange problem with his legs. It is examined now. His left hind leg has a clicking noise when he walks slowly and it also hangs sometimes.
Fortunately his host didn’t leave him alone. He still supports him and visits him regularly.
We don’t know much about the former life of Menthol. It is sure that he spent a year by his host and he bought him from a horse-chanter. It is sure that he didn1t have an easy life. He is distrustful with people and he doesn’t want to respect us. He rather wants to be punished because he had skidded to us than he should to the things we say. It is a long way he become a trustful, easy on hand pony but it is not desperate. We hope that he would be more calm and easy on hand. After he is spayed he can spend his life with the stud to socialize a bit.
Menthol has no papers now so we have to arrange it soon. Blood test, chipping, identifying, application for a passport etc…

Unfortunately we have some bad news for this week as well. Our beloved dog, Ízisz left us. She got to our place a year ago after living on the streets for a long time. To no purpose was she more than ten years old that time we thought it’s a fatal misunderstanding that she is there. We hoped her host would turn up in a few weeks. It was because she was beautiful, friendly, she had a good nature, she loved children and she was well socialized. These attributes couldn’t turn up because she lived on the streets. But her former hosts didn’t turn up. We didn’t repent it but it would be better to live with a real family. She was happy. She played a lot near the playground with other dogs. She guarded children; she was trying to catch cats near the run. It turned out six month ago that she has serious problems with her heart. She took medicines but her condition got worse every day. Fortunately her mood hasn’t changed. She was smiling, arranged everything and controlled everything. Unfortunately because of the weather conditions her heart gave up.  Rest in peace over the rainbow! Please guard the children there, search for some cats. Stay with your host who pets you all day.

On Friday one of our wild piggy girls went to the hospital. She hadn’t eaten anything for days so she became weak. Doctors were fighting for her life. She got infusion and got better for the next day. She ate some cat food and some grapes. Her condition is not better since. After examining her with ultrasound it turned out that her bowel stopped. If medicines won’t be enough to start it again then she would need an operation. Let’s cross your fingers for her!

We got some news about one of our protégé, Chocolate Snickers:
“Dear Noé,

Csoki Snickers stays with me since a week. He evolves day to day and he feels at home by us. He can walk on a leash, he chews our slippers and he knows his name (Csoki).

And we got a photo on Szutyok, a survivor of the red sludge catastrophe.

On Thursday we were in the Bókay Summer camp. It turned out that children really love pets and they know much about responsible breeding. We got some donations as well. This was a beautiful present on the Day of Lost Animals. 

Friday we got some visitors from Update. They help our work with more than 50 cardboards of cat food. We thank them on behalf of the Cat rescue group. We hope that you are going to be fit when you introduce our cats in the morning on 16th September on our Cat adoptation day. 

This year the Charity Concert for Pets by Noé is going to be held on 16. September.
This is going to be a big party on the area of the Pet home. Don’t do anything else, just come and enjoy the party!
