Days just fly by ...there was a recent Cat Diary entry and now we are back again.:) Of course we can provide lots of good news this time, but unfortunately there is bad news as well. Besides the adoptions, we lost one of our kittens due to an illness. The construction of the Cathouse is almost finished, at last, our kittens do not have to spend the winter in -10 degrees. Naturally we welcome those who would like to provide warm home to one of our velvet-pawed, so the kittens would not have to spend the coming months in the shelter. Now let’s see who were admitted in the shelter.

Sir Mock was taken into the shelter upon a report due to his injured leg. As it turned out, the cat was shot and the projectile crushed his bone. He requires major surgeries. If someone is able to contribute to the kitten’s surgeries, the donation should be sent to the following account number: 11710002- 20085016 (IBAN HU64117100022008501600000000, SWIFT code: OTPV-HU-HB) Please also indicate: „Sir Mock” on the wire transfer form. Domino is an approx. 4-year old tomcat admitted from waiting list. He lived on the streets and one of his eyes is missing. He is a nice, cool cat and now available for adoption.



The four little member of „Peches család” (Bed luck family) were rescued from a house where the „kind” owner stated that five days after he would beat them to death if no one took them away. Luckily, we managed to take them into foster care. They all have cat flu.

„Lencse” (Lentil) was in the worst condition, but now she is getting better, her eye will be healed completely. She likes to sit on lap very much.



Little „Püré” (Puree) is also improving. He is a playful, active kitten and unlike his family name does look forward not to have bad luck in finding his owner. :)



„Kása” (Mush) is already recovered. He is so playful that he might be called as a bad kitty (luckily). :)



On of the eye of „Borsó” (Pea) is in a very bad condition, but the treatment seems effective and now it is improving. The little girl is still shy a bit but slowly opens up. :)



„Kifli” (Crescent Roll) was found with an open-fractured leg and then reported to our animal shelter. Our vet immediately performed surgery on him, currently he is recovering at a volunteer foster parent. Unfortunately, he is likely to have at least one more operation. He is a very kind, purry kitty, hungry for love. His real personality has not been revealed yet, because he cannot find his place for the time being. He is litter trained from the beginning.



Lili might be hit by a car, her injuries are not fresh. The end of her tail fell off :( She is shy at the moment, but a kind kitty.



Zsuzska was rescued in summer from a playground, where she was thrown into. She was soon adopted, but now was brought back due to family issues. She became a gorgeous and kind big girl, but she does not really understand what have happened. We hope that her future owner will soon come with whom she will live happily ever after.



Our cat „Zserbó” (Gerbeaud) whose brothers and sisters were adopted long ago, has some difficulty making contact with people. Since he is better in expressing himself in writing, he sent us a few lines to see if someone fells in love with him. :)

I am Zserbó (Gerbeaud). Although I do not smell or look like exactly the famous Hungarian Gerbaud cake, I am sweet indeed. I am rather a teenage cat with „special educational needs”. As I said I am sweet. I get on very well with dogs and other cats, but with people, it is not so easy for me. I have difficulty making friends, I am shy and easily frightened. I would like to have a patient owner, such as the rider in the movie, you now, the „Horse whisperer”. But you would not have to chase me around in the pen, just to be patient and whisper nice things to me and stuff. In return, I promise to behave nicely in the house and not to cause damage. I am litter trained, I can be a friend or companion of any dog or cat. I would gladly move to a detached house if you could gradually get me used to the garden. Although I lived on the streets when I was a little, I live in a flat for a couple of months now at my foster parent. He says that I am not completely hopeless, sooner or later I will be purring on your lap. But unfortunately I have never done it yet….only watched others doing it…….and I watched carefully. So, you could be my Whisperer to prove that together we could do everything. I am looking forward to meeting you,

Little Dylan finally had the necessary CT examination thanks to you, supporters. The exam resulted that his symptoms were most likely caused by physical trauma. Time will decide whether it will improve or stagnate.

Our cat „Sugár” (Shine), as you might know, has cancer. We wanted him to spend his last couple of months in a family and the miracle happened again. Many people applied for adoption after reading the article written of him on Facebook. Finally, the dream-owner has been found. Thank you.



Our cat Denzel moved in with our kitten Melon (we used to call her Melony), you can surely remember her, she is the cat with hydrocephalus, saved from putting her to death at Illatos road, who, according to her owner, is very well, playful:) and vocal. Denzel was a good choice, the little boy likes to play very much, at last Melony is tired out by someone else, the owners can relax, they do not have to fulfill Melon’s need for exercise.

Dear Noé,

I hope I managed to engage the kitty with something for like a half a minute so I will be able to write a short report of the past week.:)

The new name of the kitty is „Zizi”, because she is buzzing around all day, fueled by the energy of a typical kitten, she plays, scratches and bites:) She is a real buzz :D I am home for two days for which he is very-very happy. I am more and more certain that if a genetic test was done it would be turned out that her ancestors were not only cats. I have to put cold pack over my ear, because she constantly suckling on it, when one of us goes to bed, she begin suckling on us immediately. In my experience, cats like to sleep, and they do sleep much, but this one hardly does such thing. She is always running, or up to some mischief and looks at me with those beautiful green eyes innocently, if she knocks the flowers off the shelf.:D One night at 2 AM she realized that she was missing some cuddling so she woke up my husband for some petting and suckling. It took one and a half our. :)

We visited the vet on Sunday, Zizi got vaccinated and sprayed against fleas. We were sorry for her because the vet instructed us to keep her in the carrier for 4-6 hours. So she cried at home. What a friendly owner-slave would do? Lie down to the carrier, push nose to the grid and stick various treats in to make kitty forgive.: D I know I am too biased (I really do not understand how I became as within a week), but I see her more beautiful and kinder day by day.

I think she is bonding with us more and more, because she purrs louder when she sees us, and cries louder if she does not see us.:) The plants were moved into the house from the terrace, and the giant fern tree is an excellent hiding place for a velvet-pawed explorer.:)

I cannot talk her out sitting on the laptop, especially if the laptop is on my stomach. Now she is sitting in front of the TV and you will not believe what she is watching. The earth pigs on Animal Planet. :D She likes them very much. :DD

Dear Noé,

We decided to adopt Izisz when we saw her and her kittens on Facebook. She immediately stole our hearts with her devoted maternal care.
We knew we needed her, and the little ones would be adopted anyway since they were so beautiful, and she would have gone back to the shelter. When we visited her at her volunteer foster parent she showed so muck kindness towards us as if she could feel that we would be her new owners.

After we brought her home she grieved for the kittens for a couple of days. :(
Since then she became the „little” gangster of the neighborhood. She roams the garden and shows the other cat (also a female) who the boss is.
When Mum arrives she jumps up like a bouncy ball wherever she is, runs and greets her with meows and then goes off.
She must be a very young cat, she is very playful, plays with literally everything that crosses her path.

He comes home at the evening, and slips into the bed beside me, lies either next to my head or my neck purring loudly and together we sleep until morning.
She just eats and eats all the time, she eats Borsóka’s food as well, when she does not look. She is a chronic bed-wetter, always digs (although gardeners not needed), scrapes the litter and sometimes, unfortunately pees on the carpet. Therefore we gave her the new name „Hugyika” (PeePee) :)))))
We took her to the vet several times to check if everything is ok with her, but the vet did not find anything, only a final, ultrasound examination has to be done.

He became a gorgeous, healthy cat and also gets on well with the two big main coons.:D He likes playing in the garden as well as in the house, loves eating and purring. Gesztenye

Hi All,
We adopted „Gesztenye” (Chestnut) on the 18th of September on the Kitten Adoption Day and gave her a new name „Szami”. She spent her first couple of hours hiding behind the bed, then came out and started to explore her new home. Our Westie, Zafír had been anxiously waiting to start playing with his new cat friend. Making friends was uneasy at the beginning, Gesztenye hissed at Zafir for about a week, but now they are very good friends. They eat, play and sleep together. Szami is a very nice cat, she voluntarily sits on lap and purrs constantly. She has a white plush mouse, it is her favorite toy, which she hunts persistently and of course the tail of Zafir.:)

Dear Noé Aminal Shelter,

My name is Sakira. I thought I share with you how my life going on my new home. First, I was put in the cat carrier so I said goodbye to my playmates and the nice lady (called Anikó) who took care of me until then. We travelled in loud vehicles, and if my ears were right we went by tram No. 2. I did not say a word. When we got home my owner took me into a room, where he usually sleeps. I hid behind the curtain then peeked out to see what happening. I went to eat later on.

When everyone went to sleep and there was silence and I ventured out of my hiding spot and sniffed everything and then also smelled the hand of my owner.

Then I jumped on his bed and fell asleep. In the morning I found all doors opened so I could enter any room, but for the time being I thought it would be the best idea to hide in the bed linen drawer. I stayed there all evening. .Then I noticed my owner (I have many owners) whose bed I slept. I jumped on his lap then wrapped myself around his neck like a scarf. Then I dared to go to everyone and I even gave kisses later. My favorite hiding place up to this day is the bed linen drawer, that one, where a blanket is. (I think that is for me). They do not use the drawer so I can go in and out anytime.

They bought me a certain dry food, my owner told me to eat that because it contains lots of vitamins. This food was developed directly for my age group. I will only get other food when I will be one year old. Good, eh? But it tastes pretty good.

I also got yummy canned food with fish, I ate it too. I like liver paté, bologna-sausage and chicken as well. I also got a bouncing toy, I will send you pictures of it too. Today some photographs were taken of me, I am sending them and I hope they are good. Oh, and my other owner said that he would build me (and only for me) a play center with scratching posts, hiding and sleeping places. I can’t wait! I say goodbye until my wonder-playcenter is done and then I will report again. Bye and kisses for everyone,

Hello Noé!

Bingo has spent two nights here and he feels really good. He spends most of the day sitting in the old, broken chair beside the radiator which we wanted to throw away, but now we decided to keep it as a cat-chair.:) He is does not care about the cat bed, nor does the other cat. Unfortunately the other cat is still dismissive, but the situation has mush improved compared to their first encounter, so I think they will be just fine. We visited the vet to get him de-warmed. – Bingo does not like the carrier and the Pubic Transport.:)


However, he cuddled with the vet. Bingo has an enormous heart, he wants so hard that he slowly takes us off our legs, literally, if he crawls between our legs we stumble and almost fall over. He has a good appetite. Fortunately he got comfortable with his new home on the second day.
I enclosed a photo of us taken altogether, unfortunately it is hard to take one together with Bingo (we will try it), because he will not stop for a moment, he just cuddles, cuddles, cuddles, :)
