2015.01.12.
Surely, there are many who feel a bit blue in the period following Christmas. For me this is one of the most love periods of the year, and now Advent and Christmas holidays are over, so are the celebrations, and its back to work. The Christmas tree’s glittering decorations have to be taken off…Everything has become a bit more grey, no Christmas lights brighten the streets.

So, if you too, feel the same way then this first double issue of our Moglog will be a nice way of time travel, so allow us to take you back to the last months of 2014.

As usual these weeks were very eventful, around the end of the year, with many new protégés coming to the shelter, among who many were fortunate enough to only spend a short time with us, and have now all found new homes…

It is always extremely difficult to say the final goodbye, but it is especially difficult in the period during the end of the year. We were all rooting for you, and our hearts broke when we could not save you. We will always remember you with love.

Soma

Felícia:
This was it…we lost this fight…all I could do was stroke you and wish you a good journey. I know that you had cancer when I took you in, but we had a good one year symptom free, though in no way does this now lessen the pain I feel now. Just a few weeks ago you were still driving me up the wall, clung to me with 20 claws during the night, didn’t even let me turn only to have me wake up with an aching back again… God bless you, Felicia: be happy, slap the dogs, and run around carefree, healthily, without pain:(((((((((((

Törcsi:
We were all shaken by the news of Törcsi’s death, because this cat was heard of even by those who did not know him in person. Thank God, he had the chance to have a happy, comfy family life, before he had to go across the Rainbow Bridge. Rest in peace, Törcsi, we will never forget you! Our deepest condolences go out to your sad master…

Meglepi:

He also only had a few happy family years, his lungs did not allow him to have more. But at least until then he was a happy and contented cat. Here we would like to express our condolences to the masters…Goodbye, sweetie!

Tomi

We continue to receive news and updates from the masters with joy. It is good to see that there are so many cat loving people, who not only allow the furball to rule them, but they also happen to enjoy this:

Bolyhos:

Dear Animal Shelter!
Bolyhos cat is very well, he has become part of the family and is very friendly with people! Bolyhos loves to eat and to sleep on the bed!

Farki:
Farki cat feels right at home, his favourite place is the kitchen (what a surprise:D) His present aim is to learn how to open the fridge. He gets along better and better with Picur, no growling and hissing anymore, it is just Picur who sometimes gets carried away, and „hunts” Farki down …

Zsömi and Briós:
Hi Girls!
I promised you to get in touch with you once the cats have been desexed. Unfortunately, we had to put that off for a while (we had an appointment for Oct 22nd so that we could mind them over the long weekend.) But some vomiting and diarrhoea double crossed our plans so we agreed with the vet, that first they should be cured, and then the operation can follow.
The operation took place this Friday. The girls took it really bravely, but woke with a little difficulty( they needed almost 12 hours to regain full consciousness, and to begin to purr) of course, they began to wake when we were asleep in bed.Since the we have a little problem with co-ordinating our biological clocks. We just returned from a check-up, they are doing well, play, and are being naughty as if nothing had happened. They drink, and they do not just eat, but gobble food up.
So everything went well fortunately. Next week the stitches are going to be removed, and then this chapter is over. We only hope to see the vet thereafter in August for their yearly inoculations.

Lila:
I have taken Lila with me, who is now called Mila. I adore her right from the start she is a sweet and bouncy cat! We sleep, rest and eat together, my flat has become really girly, and I can hardly wait to get back from work to her. Today we are going shopping for a scratch pole and other toys for her. Unfortunately, there were mites in her ear, so I’m taking her to the vet on Monday, though Kinga did also take her before we took her with us. At the vet I will get more info about ber spaying and further inoculations.

Figaro:
We haven’t been in touch for a while, so I thought I’m going to drop you a line about Figaro or Figi as (now nearly everybody calls him).
He eats a lot and still plays around. Now he also has a friend, Maci cat is my brother in law’s cat, a nice tom cat who gets along well with Figi. By now Figi has become the master of the whole house., he can stay in the house wherever and whenever he wants to. Everyone adores him, and he adores everyone too.
We had a small mishap with him when I and my partner travelled to Pest, he did not take to our absence kindly and pooed on the rug. But now we have solved this problem, and all is well as it was before. He is the apple of our eye, who gets upwith us, and goes to bed with us.(I admit that I never thought that I’d be happy about a cat purring right next to my face, but I love it). So this is how we are, I hope that the other little orphans can be as happy as Figi and we are.

Ábel

Hanna:
It is quite difficult to get a shot of her, because as soon as she notes that I am approaching her with some kind of a gadget, she runs to me and starts to purr, but I’ve tried. Though she can’t be seen very well in the pictures, the „little” dear already weighs 4 kgs, though she is not fat, she is only big boned… )))
She had her inoculations recently, she loves the vet, purrs and drools and doesn’t even notice she got a stab of the needle.
She still has a huge need for space, when I got home, she waited for me at the door and ran around in happiness, my mum says that as soon as she hears the gate opening, she is off to greet the visitor. She is very calm, she doesn’t want to be out on the street or in the garden, especially now, but she wasn’t that excited about outdoor life in the summer either, now she is in cohorts with our dachshund inside, they just love each other…

Golden:
The beautiful, well-fed, soft furred cat with gleaming eyes is no other than Golden who I adopted from your shelter back in 2010. I know that I haven’t updated you for a very long time about the state of the cat, so now I will try to make amends. Golden cat is well, and is in stellar health., Golden is still goofy, which I still love. This year I have put up a cat-net on the balcony, so Golden can enjoy the sunshine in the summer, and the cool evening breeze which is refreshing. There are flowers and plants on the balcony, which bring a little nature in the life of an indoor cat. As per your requirements Golden can only be kept as an indoor cat but it wasn’t nice to see that she could not enjoy the sunshine, which of course cats love to do, and that the cat could only see flowers and trees through the window. So I had a brainstorm, and I made Golden a very own garden  This is a great idea, and I recommend it to anyone! Golden loves it so much that the evening is always spent out on the balcony , and it is very hard to get Golden inside, even on cooler autumn nights. Unfortunately I could not make it to Noé’s last year’s Animal Christmas, but yesterday I transferred an amount of 30.000 HUF donation to the shelter’s account, thus wishing every animal and worker of the shelter a Merry Christmas! So I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and the one-time inhabitant of your shelter Golden cat who now weighs 7 kgs sends his greetings too!!!

Sábi:
My dear caretakers at Noé and my dear kennel companions!
I’d like to let you know that I am well!
Sorry about not getting back to you for so long.
My master’s computer broke down and could not be repaired. So he bought a second hand one which is not the most perfect one either!!!!!
I had a little adventure after a month when I could get out of „imprisonment” because my masters were so careful with me that I could only move around in the flat. My master does not like it when I am up on top of the wardrobe, and the dining table. He always washes it with „stinky” water, and says he puts Domestos in it. I really don’t know why he does it!
There is a big walnut tree in the yard on which I climbed up with joy. From then I climbed on the top of the roof on the other side, the neighbour’s side, but could not find my way back. So my master said to a man to bring a ladder, which is high enough for him to reach me from it. He got a basket and took me off the roof. For a long time, I did not dare to climb up on the roof again. I no longer go to that side of the roof either. The next time, I went over to the neighbours’, there is also a walnut tree there interestingly, which I climbed up again because I love to climb up on trees!
From there I managed to jump on top of the garage roof, from where I had to be taken off again. I really liked it! This is a very good game, but the master doesn’t like it, however I do!!!!!
I got to know the dog in the backyard of the neighbour. He looked quite friendly as such, but my master explained to him that he must not hurt me! The dog did not bark, he rather ran along the fence in a friendly way, and judging from his pose he invited me to play., that is what my master said.
My master usually gives him bones, and the dog licks my master’s hand in thanks. I think this relationship is an old one, because when Treffi, the dog sees my master, he runs happily to him. I keep my three paces distance, and do not climb over the wire fence. Our noses already touched in friendship. Both the dog and my master were surprised that I do not bend my back and fluff up my fur, or hiss like other cats do. I am already an experienced cat, so peace is really the best! I have tried several cat foods because my stomach is a bit weak. I have to eat a bit of cat grass every day, to help my digestion. Despite this I am well! I stay in the flat when my master leaves for work. I always greet him with much love, when he arrives home. I purr for him, I can sit in his lap and he strokes me. He says that I am a very kind cat. I can feel that he loves me a lot, as much as I love him! So much for an update from me now and lots of kisses to you all!
Wishing everyone a Merry Xmas and an even better new year! To my dear caretakers the vets who took care of me and last but not least, to my kennel companions, the dogs and all inhabitants of the Noé Shelter I wish for a new master in the new year and lots of luck!
Kiss-kiss-kiss kiss!!!

Kex

Rézi:
I thought it was time now to write to you, since you have saved me and managed to find me a family. Up until now, I did not even know what a family was, but you know what? I really dig it. Just don’t tell them, because I would like to keep my superiority. There are two people here who happen to be called Mum and Dad, though they are not old. I also have siblings, at whom I first hissed,so that they would know their place, but now they no longer bother me. They always lick me and lie next to me and look for my company which is no wonder because I have real personality. The best thing is the food. My favourites are Whiskas and Felix canned foods(chicken in jelly, salmon in jelly). Of course it is chopped finely, because I have no teeth, but I also love ham, cracklings, sausage and noodles with cottage cheese and cracklings, just as a cool down so to speak. I talk a lot, so that no-one forgets who I am. We are on the internet together with Mom, so that is how I can write to you now. Here there are a lot of soft and warm cat-beds, but the best is the one in which we all cuddle up together. I wasn’t happy with yesterday however, because I was taken to someone called a vet, who seemed kind at first, but then poured something in my ear, and stuck a q-tip into it, then put some drops in my eyes, and the made me swallow something called an antibiotic or whatever. It was good to have a pedicure however, that is always a lady’s thing. They also gave us my medical findings or what-not. I still have that antibiotic showed down my throat at home too, I just quickly swallow, rather than having to ever go back to the vet. I still get drops in my eyes. They will stop doing so, when they will get bored of it. We came home with that puffing thing, though I was afraid they would leave me at the vet’s, but no. So in a nutshell everything is tops. You just take care of the other’s now, I have found my home.

I do still think of you all with love!

Manó:
Bumba is very well and is gearing up for winter, they eat so much with Szuszkó, really! We get canned food called Moments for them from Fressnapf they like salmon, shrimp, and tuna flavours and just gobble them up. When Bumbi hears that I am opening a can he gets up from even his deepest sleep and sits at my feet (of course the can isn’t always being opened for him) . He is now a big tom cat, he protects his territory, when some other cat comes here, but when others see that there are two cats here they tend to back off. They are also very intrigued by bubble bath foam, he puts his foot in it, and scatters it around. Even when the water is still running in the tub, he jumps up and watches with interest! He is well really, but spends most of the time indoors in the warm flat.

G.I. Jane:
Jane finally was given the name Mandula. She quickly won all of us over. She adapted to our lifestyle and rhytm within days, she eats well, uses the litter tray properly and enjoys the unconditional adulation of all family members. When the time for her spaying is here, we will be back to sign the final papers.
Thank you Noé and especially Anikó!

Salem:
Little cat Salem has now been with us for 3 weeks. They chase each other with our other cat, but this is such a friendly game. Little black Salem comes to us and cuddles up to be stroked. Often the two cats lick each other so they have come to love each other. Thank you Noé, for your intermediation.

Amarillisz:
I just remembered that its been a long time since I updated you about Bébike, and it would be nice if you could see how my darling has developed in the past two years.:))
I wrote earlier that they quickly got used to each other with Mézi, I was happy that everything went well with getting them used to each other and that they have become good friends. I don’t exactly know where Bébike came from, but she was rather puny, and it took her a while to get into a cat shape.
As for her size, she remained quite small as an adult cat too, she is like a little teen. Otherwise she is the retreating type, after a while she might let guest visitors to touch her ( for about half a minute) up until then she watches events from afar. Her voice, in accordance with her description is a little screech, but you can conversate well with her ) However, her purring is extra loud, when she sees me the motor revs up. If she gets to like somebody well enough she cuddles up and bangs her head into the person, she is very sweet. She eats and drinks well puts a little weight on in the winter, but sheds these extra pounds in summer.

Menyus:
We have moved into our (own) new flat with Menyus. It was very strange for both of us at first, and for Menyus especially, who at first did not understand what happened, but I stayed with Menyus so he got used to it in 1-2 days, there are no problems now. One day Menyus sat in the bathtub for hours, but mostly he lazes on my bed, and sleeps there too, lies at the table when I sit there, he is super cute. He eats well, and we play a lot together, his favorite toy is foil ball, I think things are totally allright.

Lancelot:
It’s time for me to say hi to you, it has been two years since I have moved into my new place. I’m fine here, even if they like to make a fool of me as you can see  I have become more youthful in the past two years I am not an old wreck of a man. My deafness is also a thing of the past, when the fridge opens I hear that even when I sleep. I still like to run about and horse around with Berci(but I know now how to play and we have become good brothers). At the end of the year I gave everyone a little fright, my spine is no longer what it used to be, but thanks to Mom and Dad, the vet, and the many injections, I’m fine now. I hope to forget this problem for quite a long time... Merry Xmas to you all!

Liliput:
Last year he was called Liliput at your shelter! At us he is called Lali and he is a sweetie! We’ve never before had such a „good” cat!

Alain:
Hi ex- Mom!
I thought it was time for me to tell a few things about myself. My new Mom, to whose care you trusted me, left for three months, but luckily,my little playmates were here, and a tall, smooth skinned person too, who tried to substitute Mom, and gave us food, stroked us, and always talked about Mom. Fortunately Mom already came back, we are all together again and everything is fine. Would you believe it ex Mom that there is great sadness here since November, the 15 year old white cat was ill for days, and looked unwell too, then one day he was put in a carrier with everybody crying and old white cat never came home again. Since then I’m trying to be even sweeter to help my food providers in their grief, otherwise, how would I get dinner?
Sometimes I jump on the bed, and sniff it well, walk around and round , then one of my masters comes, picks me up and puts me in the kitty litter tray, in which I pee, and then get a snack as a reward for having peed in the tray, and not the bed. I really don’t know what the problem with peeing on the bed is, but for a little snack I’m happy to pee in the tray. In order to make up for the time she was away Mom gave me lots of new toys, she found a very cool one for me which has training toy written on it, it is like a torch, lights up a fish form on the floor where Mom points it at, and I run after it like mad, and try to catch it , but for some reason I can’t. I do really try though! I await every evening with excitement, that is when we play with it. I don’t understand Maya (she is my grey cat sister) she does not want to catch it. She rather jumps on me when I slap the fish and chase it. Well, everyone has defects. Then I heard the smooth skinned persons talking that Xmas is coming and it is almost here. I did not know what that was but when I saw the decorated tree I remembered how nice it was to climb up on, and I immediately got to like Xmas.Again. I have found such a nice glittering ornament on top of the smaller tree that I just had to get it. True, the whole tree fell down, it fell off the cupboard, the light lines got ripped, Mom shouted at me, but at least I got away with the bow decoration in my mouth! And now you are proud of me aren’t you? And we do excellent team work when it comes to being naughty. I’m fitter than Maya, therefore its me who jumps on the table, and hunt down the jam biscuits from the tray, I drop the cookies down to Maya, somehow we take the top cookie off, lick out the jam, and the biscuits go to the dog. Mom and Dad are not so happy about this either LOL. And we just start to be afraid a bit with the dog and Maya when we heard talk about some vegan dinner for Xmas, but then they assured us, that we would get some yummy stuff maybe lamb liver, or cooked fish, wow, heavenly!
Mommy showed me on Facebook that you have a new little one? But he is not furry and has no whiskers and is not looking for a master! I still hope that you will save many more black little fur balls like what I was way back when. Thank you so much, I now live like a king!
Wishing you many happiness with the new little two legged one, and a happy new year, wishing you lots of masters and less stray cats and dogs!

Brünhilda
As Kriszta has surely already indicated the cat formerly named Brünhilde now called Mitzi is with us now. She is very afraid , she has been here for 8 hours, and slowly but surely she is visibly easening up very very slowly. When we cross that bridge, she will surely allow us to stroke her, and take her into our lap, we then will take a family picture, and I will write you the whole story of it, which will happen to perhaps make someone adopt a cat for this reason. The main thing is, the cat can be filed under the has a master heading.

Bahama

Kávé
One double-brew coffee please! There is no better way to start the day!

Mercike
Mercike, who is now named Böbe, sashayes „like Queen Elizabeth” –and has become very picky like a true lady, and wakes up the family in the middle of the night, to be cudddled. Her main admirer is Dad, who much to his own surprise, has become a devoted servant and main court cuddler of Her Majesty :)

Cina and Kocka

Capri
Capri is really getting on my nerves today, I do not know what type of glue she smeared on herself today, but I just can’t get rid of her, she almost now is on top of my head, doesn’t let me sit in front of the computer or do anything I should only care about her, who cares about anything else? Somehow I got her off me, went out of the room, then came back to find her with the following look on her face: „Don’t even think of sitting down here again today!”

Feketepont
Feketepont, who started out as Lucifer, but finally ended up being called Noé, even though he is really naughty. The other cat really got a shocked by him, up to this point the poor thing was used to a very calm cat-mate  The other cat didn’t hurt him or hiss at him just crawled out of sight, until this little imp turned the flat upside down, then of course, he got tired and went to bed. Naturally.

The editor in chief said that this month she is going to censor the news from temporary masters. Very disappointing. What about the freedom of the press and marketing?! She says that due to the season, they have received too many updates and pics about the temporary protégés, so she had to pick from the huge choice. I really don’t know what she means, I only took five to six photos a day about my temporary stock, but I didn’t even send her half of them.

Feketepont:
...the little ding-dong went back to sleep in the bag at night, and was tosssing and turning until he fell from the table and his head got stuck in the handle of the bag. He ren along the dogs with the bag on him, and after he managed to wake up everybody, Attila freed him from the bag, then he proceeded to sprawled out on my pillow and fell asleep…

Ózon

Belfi and Tüsi play or „The blind leads the sightless” :)

Nyafi
Horribly fat, climbs on everything, round-headed, finds food immediately Nyafi is here. He already had half an antithelmitic, we wait with the rest.So far, so good, but I think I can soon say good-bye to my plasma TV. He would like to get on top of it at whatever cost, but plasma Tvs are not designed for this :)

Fekete Rigó:
Feketerigó’s eyes are better. On Friday he had his eyelashes which were growing at the wrong angle, cut. It kept on irritating his eyes, that’s why his right kept oozing. The big question is, whether his lashes will grow back at the same angle, if yes, then he will unfortunately have to undergo plastic surgery on the eye.

Cicafi
It seems like it is only Cicafi’s voice which is big, as soon as I touch him, he throws himself down and purrs like mad. Otherwise he is still very scared, lives in the cupboard, but when it is quiet he climbs out and starts to explore the flat.

Ingó-bingó and Libikóka
Well, they are extremely beautiful, and have grown already. Tipitapi( Libikóka ) is like a little dog and is constantly at our heels wherever we are. He is very inquisitive and curious, and loves to unpack, takes the potatoes, the onion, the bags out of the cupboard…he plays with whatever he can  Kocka no longer likes him, does not play with him anymore I think he has had enough of badgering, though their productions were really funny
Dzidzi ( Ingóbingó ) is taking his steps quite well, though he does tumble over after a couple of steps…but if he happens to be in a playful mood, he digs like a rabbit. He loves to charm and purr. His appetite is unchanged, he clears his bowl until it shines in 10 seconds, then watches out for any leftovers, and proceeds to clean out the bowls in the same way. He does stand nicely already when he eats , only his plate has to be held. He is a well-set little massive dumpling, not like Tipitapi who is pretty, slim, and long-legged…
Cinka no longer hisses at them either, but sometimes she puts the whole group into their place…

Nárcisz and Zolika
Since Nárcisz and Zolika are back home together, want miraculously to be close to the the other, they always find their places so that there is no bigger than half a metre of distance between them. They bump their heads together and sniff the other.
Unfortunately or thank God both Bence and I work a lot, so we are not home from the morning to the early evening hours. So when we get home both cats grab every opportunity to be with us. This morning too, they had devastated looks on their faces , when we put on our coats. They are really cute, but also naughty! For example Nárcisz loves to meow, but the neighbours have not complained so far which is a miracle.(it is most natural to be loud at night isn’t it?...) Zolika still doesn’t know that he really does not have to take his poo apart into tiny pieces, because then I can proceed to rake the tray clean, this takes a good half an hour. When I home I watch over him and the poo is on my shovel before long. 
De ezek csak apróságok. Rengeteg örömünk van bennük!
And Zotya no longer rips up stuff, did someone give him a pedicure, or can he at last pull his claws back!
He really made a big improvement!

Frodó

Noé Animal Shelter has celebrated Xmas day to day this year for the second year in a row-which I can proudly say- turned out to be truly fantastic, and cat rescuers gave it their all. Our protégés got lots of gifts and personalized donations, which we would like to thank you all on your behalf. There was a Xmas cat café , and Xmas cookies like gingerbread, and even gingerbread houses. Seeing the many smiling faces it was good to grab a steaming mug of hot chocolate, made us gear up for the festivities. Here is the link to the days events:
Élménybeszámoló

We received a ton of gifts in this period, like a fully furbished house. Many many thanks for all the seasonal gifts, which were just given with love, not because it was any particular festive day!!!
