Opening ceremony of the new cat yard
2011.06.21.
20 June 2011 was a big day in the life of Noé Cat Rescue Team. As many of you know we have been working hard, campaigning and collecting money for months in order to be able to provide the best circumstances possible for the velvet-soled residents of Noé until their day comes, and the dream master comes for them.

The cat yard has been an old dream for us, since we placed the little residents through forced solutions. There were some with the pheasants, some with the chickens or in the stable, and there were many who had space in convalescent room in a small cage only despite their recovery. Of course all our desire was to eliminate this situation as soon as possible and to let them move to a place that meets all their needs – and not least the visitors can a better take a look at them.

We would have liked to create a place where the little furry ones can be in safety but at the same time they receive the freedom they need. Where they can climb trees, sunbathe but also they can hide from curious eyes, blazing sun or rain.
In order for this a lot of money and other material donations were needed since unfortunately it is not possible to build such a cat dream out of nothing. Fortunately we could count on our supporters, primarily Noé Support Club, PANTON and those who donated money for the creation of this. The yard could be more or less ready with their help – of course some things are still missing from it. One of these is a small wooden house, the workers of GENPACT company collected for, we are very grateful thank you. The house will arrive soon, but still need help for insulation and furniture.

Now the weather is beautiful, the sun is shining and we do not have to worry about ground-frost for a couple of months we decided not to tear the nerves of either the visitors or the cats anymore and we will move our cats to their brand new home, a spacious yard of high and European standards. Celebrities like Dóra Mészáros, Peti Puskás, Jani Vadon or VV Olivér were at our help in ceremonial the handover of the yard.

They are also huge animal lovers just like us, all of them stick up for animal rights and try to benefit from their reputation in favour of the animals. Dóri and Olivér have no less than 4 cats each in their own homes, Jani Vadon is proud to present one Miklós Nyári, and Peti Puskás gives home to a giant tom-cat in his parents’ house.

As all of them – except Jani - were NOÉ virgins we performed a little guidance for them in the shelter, together with some fans and a group of schoolchildren who watchfully found out from the latest Cat Diary what we are planning to do on this sunny Monday. The residents of our farm yard were an undivided hit as usual, the pocket raider goats, Gyogyó administrative supervisor, TóthOttó, our donkey and George the lama and many others all gathered around our new visitors.

We also showed our quarantine department where our ill and injured cats heal.

Meanwhile the four chosen ones, Mandarin, Melon, Gomez and MirrMurr occupied the place of the great entering inside a carrier each. All of them were very excited about the great event, Gomez for example has been there half an hour before the attraction in order not to miss anything. So the cat lover little group went to the nice yard near the Mini Shelter to hand it over ceremonially to the worthy owners.

Viki and Timi, the two coordinators of cat rescue held a little speech thanking everyone the support and then the handover began.

Dóri of course voted for the macho Gomez while Peti Puskás was enchanted by Melon. Olivér decided on MirrMurr with firm looks, and Jani Vadon grabbed Mandarin, the straddled walking treasure of the yard. The four little residents were waiting to occupy the place, even though Gomez had such a great time in the red carrier that matched the colour of his fur that he did not want to start off in his new home immediately.
Of course finally all of our cats occupied the flowered lawn of the yard where custom-designed mahogany snugs, jungle gym and rockeries were waiting for them. The group of schoolchildren immediately flew at the cats who happily appreciated the never-ending caress and fondling and of course the treats as today they were the stars!:)

Our Little Melon swept everyone off their feet immediately:)

We could write so much more about yesterday, for example about the unbelievably familiar and affectionate spirit that surrounded the cats, about the celebrities that helped with the handover, who are very cool, nice and direct, about the joyful running of the cats that started right after the handover…But let the pictures talk instead of us, as those tell more than all words!
Before that we would like to thank our supporters without whom this project could not have been realised, the workers of the shelter who helped with their hands in the completion of the yard and all members of cat rescue who in any form helped in the works prior to the handover. Especially the number one caretaker of the cats, Timi who presented an unbelievable spirit in the yard with self-made rockeries and red geraniums in the side of the yard. Moreover the small houses of the cats that present luxury circumstances and have terraces were made by László Hadady, and we thank GARMIN the wonderful benches from which we can conveniently watch our happy cats!

Our celebrities signed our T-shirt that will be offered for auction soon at Noé Charity Auction. Noé Support Club is the one that offered this. Please do bid, the revenue will be given to Cat Rescue.

Of course the project is far from being over, since Noé provided another yard of the same size as the current one, and the construction of the second yard is still in progress. The aim of the second yard is to place the infectious sick cats in similar luxury circumstances as mentioned above, as even though we cannot seam them with their healthy companions they also deserve convenience. Therefore we ask our supporters to keep on helping the completion of the yard with their donations, in order for Cat Rescue to perform its work in the most professional way for the satisfaction of visitors, future owners and of course the cats.

With the completion of the two yards we are given opportunity to help more velvet-soled ones so the early establishment of the yard is common interest. Those who are able to help the project with money can do so on this bank account: Bank account number of Cat Rescue: 11710002- 20085016

Those who cannot help financially but would like to take their share of the work are welcomed on the announced days for a little gardening or painting.:) We welcome flower soil, plants that are not dangerous to cats, shields or anything that might be useful in the new yard. We thank you very much for the past and future donations!

We thank Peti Molnár – Olter for the fantastic photos. :)

Thank you!

Ági
