The Cats for Adoption menu lists the animals that are currently up for adoption.
Attention! Our foundation does not want to get rid of the animals but wants to find them a secure home and a suitable owner. Therefore, we carefully select where our cats are adopted and do not provide all interested people with an animal. Besides important likes and dislikes between the pet and the potential owner a number of other aspects are to be considered before an adoption. Therefore, we hand out animals to potential owners (adult, with valid i. d.) after a personal consultation only. We take the following into consideration: which accommodation suits the animal, indoors or outdoors, the age of the owner and a number of other factors. Please be understanding with our co-workers (since they keep the regulations of the foundation in mind) since it is in our common interest to find the right owner for ever animal and to avoid having them back at the shelter in a few weeks, months or years surviving another trauma.
Information regarding the animals in our Cats for Adoption menu at +36-20-540-55-62 (Mon-Wed-Fri: 10 am -13:30 pm and Sun 11 am - 14 pm.)
The birthdates of the animals on our webpage are estimates since we are rarely informed of the past of our four legged inhabitants.
In the case you do not find the animal of your choice among our protégés, we still advise you to call the above number since it is possible that we have an animal on the waiting list that waits for an empty space or is quarantined but it is up for adoption before arriving at to our shelter.
Our shelter does not ask for an adoption fee but we sign an adoption agreement with the new owner in every case. (Similarly, when handing in an animal, a waiver has to be signed by the previous owner.)
Since our animals are handed over with valid shots and neutered (most of the time) we would like to ask you to support all the other little animals in the care of our foundation by at least the price of the shots or the surgeries. Thank you.
We give cats to potential owners only in the case they arrive with a cat carrier with secure latches. We do not grant cats in cardboard boxes, plastic bags, shopping bags, baskets, on a leash or in a lap even if the potential owner arrives by car. An unknown cat, even at a young age can scratch and bite when scared in the hands of a stranger and may cause accidents if he/she jumps and ends up underneath the clutch or accelerator.
A cat carrier might be needed any time in the future, if the cat is involved in an accident and has to be taken to the vet e.g. in the middle of the night (when it is impossible to borrow a carrier). A bloody, screaming animal in shock can be transported securely only in a cat carrier.
Keeping a cat involves different costs therefore if you do not want to spend on a cat carrier please think of all the costs of yearly shots, parasite control and treatment, amounting to tens of thousands of Forints or even hundreds of thousands in the case of serious surgeries.
If your financial status does not allow you to responsibly care for a cat we kindly ask you to adopt one of our cats virtually and visit our shelter occasionally. You are welcome any time, our doors are open.
